5 stars "Amber color. Complex, aromatic nose with a rich walnut taste. Very long finish. This wine has in fact so much complexity that it could be enjoyed after dinner like a Single Malt but without all the alcohol."

"The rarest of Sherry wines, Palo Cortado is only made in very small quantities. It is a style that falls between the bracing purity of a fine Amontillado and the richness of an Oloroso. The Hidalgo is a nutty hue and a nose of almond essence. It has the marvelous flavors of a great single malt, all the features without the heat! It is an incredibly detailed and complex drink that makes an excellent aperitif with deep fried almonds, roasted peanuts or just by itself. Because it is already oxidized it should last a month in the cellar (or the fridge door) after being opened. (Gary Westby, Champagne and Sherry Buyer)"
