"89-91: chewy, solid red, with cherry, tobacco and tar character. Full-bodied, thick tannins and a medium finish. Tight wine."

"89-91 points: The finest Cantenac Brown I have ever tasted, this full-bodied, layered, concentrate, saturated purple-colored 2000 offers pure aromas and flavors of black currants, minerals, and flowers. Moderately high, but sweet tannin is found in the 25-30-second finish. Patience, however, is required because of the structured nature of this offering. Anticipated maturity: 2006-2025." "At the en primeur in Apr-01: a superb wine. An riper than even Brane-Cantenac: dense violets mixed with black fruits and Cassis. Lovely balance and good complexity. Firm tannins. Chocolaty. Lush wine. Excellent. However it was not so impressive after bottling when it lost some definition and turned a bit jammy. Should wait and see how this develops. (18/25) Then in Nov-04, a great improvement. This has really improved over the last couple of years and is easily the best Cantenac Brown that I have tasted. A plummy, meaty, earthy nose wafts up from the glass. Good concentration on the palate. Firm tannins, soft red berried fruit mixed with tobacco and a touch of leather. Solid, yet still harmonious. Would make an astute purchase. Drink from 2010. (21/25)" Best 2010-2025
