91 points "August Wests 2010 Pinot Noir Rosellas wafts from the glass with fragrant red berries, flowers, spices, mint and sweet red cherries. Saline notes appear in the glass, adding an element of brightness that is intriguing. The 2010 possesses lovely depth and a focused, linear personality that captures the essence of this cooler, more northerly part of the Santa Lucia Highlands. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016. Winemaker Ed Kurtzman describes 2010 as a year with a very cold summer, and frequent periods of fog and drizzle that led him to believe the fruit would never ripen. It did, of course, and these are very pretty wines, especially the Pinots. - Aug 2012 " Best 2012-2016

"There are around 900 cases of August West's 2007 Rosella's Vineyard Pinot Noir, a large production by this small winemaker's standard. A fine example of Rosella's, one of the most famous vineyards in the Santa Lucia Highlands. Spicy on the nose with aromas of black cherries that carry over to the palate. A bigger style that's drinking well already, but is plenty structured to last for a decade or more. " Best 2011-2017

89 points "Color: bright; Nose: fragrant; Acidity: green; Overall: slighly unbalanced; This wine was SO much better the second night, it is very clear that this was drunk too soon. What are people on cellartracker thinking? DO NOT TOUCH FOR A YEAR." Best 2009-2014
