"Color: bright; Sweetness: dry; Finish: short; This was a decent, earthy expression of Pinot Noir. For the money, I have had similar CA pinots. I got that classic dirt, hard to describe fruit nose that I see all the time in warm CA pinots, in fact a nose that keeps me from being more of a pinot fan. I just don't get it. It was good, not great and I would have thought I could get more Pinot from this region for $23. The nose was typical pinot, kind of a green berry, maybe a little capers. At first, since I had received this as part of a Sam's sampler, I was not sure whether it was gamay or pinot. I ruled out Cab Franc early and felt it was pinot noir which a check of their website confirmed. The acid was pretty high and the wine fell apart in my glass over 2 hours, turning sour and losing the fruit. On the palate, classic bramly, dark pinot flavors. Not fruity but not exactly eating dirt either, although elements of both existed. The wine still had a little chew to it and the finish was decent, maybe strong for 15 seconds but lingering faintly over a couple of minutes."
