4 stars "Good value, subtle taste with many dimensions, great nose, great finish. Nicely balanced, but missing just a bit of fruityness to be great."

"Our latest 2005 Bordeaux, a lovely Entre-Deux-Mers from a small family estate. -- Release Notes: The grapes for Sainte Marie’s Grande Reserve red come from a clay and chalk vineyard on one of Bordeaux’s highest hills. The 2005 is a blend of Merlot (64%), Cabernet Sauvignon (28%) and Cabernet Franc (8%). The wine is then aged for one year in French oak barrels before release. An amazing value. -- Tasting Notes: Intense crimson colored wine with a nose of red plum, berry and spice. On the palate, the ripe red berry attack is balanced by plum, dark cherry, and pepper notes. Good body with depth, complexity and a long lingering finish. Drink now to 2011 with beef, chicken risotto, lamb, game, or strong cheeses."
